Meet Catherine

Registered Speech and Language Therapist

I've been a Paediatric SaLT for over 25 years, working for much of this time with children with specific Speech and Language Disorders.

I am registered with the Health Care Professional's Council, the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist's and the Association of Speech and Language Therapist's in Independent Practice.

I am a parent myself with two adult children one of whom has a diagnosis of Auditory Processing Disorder which has resulted in him living with Developmental Language Disorder, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia. As with all parents, you learn so much from your children and he has certainly enhanced my knowledge of living with additional needs and especially DLD. The love of enabling effective communication is clearly strong in our family as my daughter is now also a children's NHS SaLT.

I love enjoy my work: motivating and inspiring children to achieve more than they think they can whilst enjoying themselves. I am passionate about finding and celebrating your child's strengths whilst helping them embrace the skills they find difficult. I work closely with parents; you are such a vital part of the therapeutic process. It is my belief that supporting the whole family is key.

I live in Hitchin with my husband and our family and our two pets - Daisy our cuddly but very chilled cockapoo and Spice our elderly and less social cat. When not working I enjoy walking Daisy, yoga, reading, cooking and baking, church salted activities and meeting up with friends.

I am a Christian and hope my faith impacts positively on my relationship with each family. I am honest and trustworthy and compassionate.
